I was waiting to send you this pic<span style="font-family: "consolas";">So... I'm still getting over my cold. Not feeling 100%
but I'm working on it. These last 2 weeks have been kinda weird. 2 Monday's ago
president called us and said that me and Elder Tomlinson were being transferred,
last minute. He told us to pack all of our things and meet him at the mission
office Tuesday morning. We did as he said and met him there at 11 am. The new
greenies came in and and he spent all day with them. We waited and waited
for further instruction. Well, he told us that he wasn't sure where he was going to
put us yet, but to stay on standby. We stayed the night in a vacant missionary
apartment.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "consolas";">Wednesday rolled around, and president still didn't tell
us where he wanted us. So we waited all Wednesday and still nothing. Wednesday
night came and president told us to go back to our area for the time being, and
that we would be transferred next Tuesday. Well that didn't happen, so one week
after that we are still here in Olivehurst/ Wheatland.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "consolas";">So something super exciting happened 2 days ago....</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "consolas";">Cassandra was baptized by Elder Tomlinson, and David was
baptized by me. It was an awesome experience and the spirit was so strong
there.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "consolas";">Those 2 kids have been waiting to be baptized for years.
I am so glad that I was able to be a part of bringing them into this wonderful
church.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "consolas";">So spiritual thought for this week: in sacrament
yesterday a lady talked about listening to the spirit. She talked about how we
have to tune our hearts to listen to when, and what the spirit speaks to us. I
thought of a time in my life that I have had to tune to something in order to
listen to it. I thought of my truck. I love music and I had loud speakers. It
was nice to be able to listen to music while driving to my destination, yet it
was distracting. I thought to when I rolled my truck and after I had it back on
the road again. I never put speakers back in and I drove it without music for a
good few months.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "consolas";">For those few months, I didn't have the luxury of
listening to music, but I had the blessing of being able to listen to every
sound my truck would make. Good and bad. I was "in tune" with all
aspects of my truck. I then was able to hear things that needed my attention
and fix them. The same is true in our lives with many things. When we remove
distractions like music, and are able to be "in tune" with the
spirit.</span></div>
<br />
<span style="font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; font-size: 11pt;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">We are able to listen to the spirit and what it
has to tell us. Both good and bad. After that, we are able to make adjustments
to our lives for the better.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "calibri" , "sans-serif"; font-size: 11pt;"><span style="font-family: "arial";"></span></span><br />

Missionaries:<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><span style="font-family: "Lucida Sans Unicode","sans-serif"; font-size: 10pt;">This
week we invite each of you to begin <u>to read the Book of Mormon daily
starting on February 10 and to finish reading the entire book by April 10</u>.
The next day Monday, April 11th we have planned an all-mission
temple morning (three sessions) at the Sacramento Temple. This reading
assignment will help lift us and prepare us for that wonderful experience
together. Reading the Book of Mormon in sixty days will mean
reading about 9 pages per day. A personalized copy of the Book of
Mormon will be given to you by your zone leaders at your zone meeting this
week. Inside the front cover is a reading schedule as well as quotes from
<span style="color: #cc0000;">President Ezra Taft Benson concerning the power of reading the Book of Mormon</span>.
As you read, <u>we invite you to find and mark in <b><span style="color: red;">red</span></b>
every reference to <b>Jesus Christ and His Atonement</b>. <o:p></o:p></u></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Lucida Sans Unicode","sans-serif"; font-size: 10pt;">The
authors of the Book of Mormon wanted its readers to receive a witness of Jesus
Christ as our Savior and Redeemer. The Book of Mormon came forth with the
intent to convince Jews and Gentiles that JESUS is the CHRIST. The Book
of Mormon is “Another Testament of Jesus Christ.”<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: "Lucida Sans Unicode","sans-serif"; font-size: 10pt;">In
<span style="color: #cc0000;">August 2005 President Gordon B. Hinckley</span> invited everyone to read or re-read
the Book of Mormon by Christmas. In issuing that invitation, <span style="color: #cc0000;">President
Hinckley made this promise: “Without reservation I promise you that if
each of you will observe this simple program . . . there will come into your
lives and into your homes an added measure of the Spirit of the Lord, a strengthened
resolution to walk in obedience to His commandments, and a stronger testimony
of the living reality of the Son of God.” </span> I believe in these
promises. As we read the Book of Mormon together, we will see miracles in
our missionary service.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

feel the power of the Book of Mormon blessing our lives and yours.<o:p></o:p></span><br />

February 8, 2016<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">Hey everyone!!! Sorry I was not able to email last week!
I had a ton of stuff to pack up and clean. We had to move out of our beautiful
home and into a little apartment in Wheatland California. We did so much
service this week and it was great!</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">So we received a referral this week and have tried
contacting her at least 8 times. Each time she answers, she tells us she's
busy. That's missionary work I guess!! We've been working with many less active
members these past 2 weeks and are trying our hardest to help them kale and
keep commitments i.e. Church attendance... I feel that less active members are
just as important as investigators.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">We had a huge miracle present itself to us last
Wednesday! The bishop of the Olivehurst ward called us up and told us about a
family I have never met before. The Martinez family. She has 2 kids in their
early teens. Neither are baptized, but both actively attend church/ mutual, and
have been for quite a few years. The mother is divorced and the father has
partial custody of the kids. He does not want them getting baptized. But
recently, he has not been paying child support and the mother is working on
full custody so that the kids can be baptized!!!</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">Things have been way hectic these past few weeks. We had
to move out of our apartment in Olivehurst down into Wheatland. We are now
living in the southern most part of the whole zone. We are so far away from
everyone now haha.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">All is well here in the California Roseville mission. I
apologize for not being able to email any of you more recently. I love you all
and keep you all in my prayers.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">

<span style="font-family: Consolas;">Wow what a week!!! Planning a baptism was much more
stressful than I imagined. II didn't realize how many things actually go into a
baptism! I didn't want to talk a lot about it last week because everything was
going so smoothly and I didn't want to jinx anything!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Consolas;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">But let me tell you, the baptism went very smooth!!
(Except for the little fiasco with Jose) Elder Fife came down from Chico and
hung out with us for a little before the baptism. He preformed the ordinance
and it was great!</span><br />
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">Yesterday, Sunday I had the privilege to confirm Donna in
sacrament meeting. It was so spiritual and wonderful. I blessed her for a few
things, like her health and then when we took our hands off her head she was
crying. I know that she was feeling the spirit as strongly as I was. It is so
comforting knowing that Donna is making important covenants with our Heavenly
Father.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">We did a little work in Wheatland last Wednesday and met
one of the only investigators in the area. Her name is Maryellen and she's an
awesome old lady. She's been investigating for years, has been taught all the
lessons, and has been waiting for her husband to pass away to get baptized.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Her husband passed in October, so now me and
Tomlinson are coming in to finish the job! She has a funny parrot named lulu
that loves the missionaries (except for when you don't share your candy with
her. Then she gets mad and bites at you.........) she loves giving people
kisses and is a super funny bird.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">Well, I kinda did my email backwards where I bore my
testimony first haha. I love you all and pray for you continually! Take care
and be safe!</span></div>

</span><span style="font-family: Consolas;">Donna is solid! If you don't remember Donna, she's our
newly found investigator as of like a month ago. Her baptism is set for this
Friday and everything is good good knock knock! We almost had a huge snafu with
donnas friend who is a member! His name is Jose and he's really close friends
with Donna.</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">On to the story!! We were teaching Donna and Jose rolled
up about 15 minutes into the lesson. We both thought "awesome! Jose is
here! It'll be a member present lesson!" Well Jose comes in and says that
he has to tell us something. We ask him what's going on and he tells us.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">He said that he had some revelation in a dream the other
night. In his dream he saw God and God told him that he wants him to go back to
his old church, the Catholic Church. We sat there and tried to help him
understand that it was not revelation from God and that he was in the right
church and God didn't want him to leave.</span></div>

<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">Well, we continued the lesson with Donna and she's still
on date for baptism this Friday! It's funny because Donna fells the same way
that we do about Jose leaving the church. She's just as confused as we are and
equally as sad.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">This week ahead been so stressful planning for the
baptism. It feels like I'm doing everything all by myself. Me and my companion
are both super excited for the baptism. Not a whole lot has happened this week,
so I'm keeping it short. I love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!!</span></div>

<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">I hope you all had
a wonderful holiday season! I know I sure did!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">Thank you to everyone who sent me either a letter, or a
package for the holidays! I received a total of 13 lbs of candy for Christmas
and New Years! I'm gonna get soo fat!! Haha.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">So, there are a total of like 7 Hmong missionaries in the
whole mission, and 3 Hmong areas. One of those are in my zone (yuba zone) For
some reason, the Hmong area in my zone has a Hmong elder and an English elder.
The other 2 areas each have a brand new missionary being trained by 2 seasoned
missionaries as a trio. One of those greenies was not getting along with his
trainers. So he called president and told him. President thought long and hard
and came to a conclusion. He was going to stick him in the only Hmong branch in
the mission, in yuba. He wanted him to be trained like a normal missionary, not
in a trio. So he took out the English elder and stuck him with us! So for the
past 2 weeks, I have been in a trio companionship!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">We received transfer updates last night and elder Fife is
leaving us to go to Chico :( I'll miss him a lot :( we became really good
friends and have a lot in common. I understand that this is heavenly fathers
work and not mine and that he needs to go to Chico for a reason. Also!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">The Wheatland area adjacent to my area is being shut
down! President has asked us to double cover our area and Wheatland. I'm stoked
because the Wheatland apartment has a lava lamp!!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">Our investigator on date, Donna, is doing super awesome!
Her baptism is set for the 15th of this month! Last visit, we went through the
interview questions and she passed with flying colors! Since Fife is leaving,
it's left up to me to plan out the whole baptism. Scheduling the time, who's
going to talk, and pray, and who's going to preform the baptism! I think Fife
would like to come down to do it.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<o:p><span style="font-family: Consolas;"> </span></o:p><span style="font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif"; font-size: 11pt; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-bidi; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Tuesday I had the opportunity to go to the
temple! It was awesome! We went with a family who lives in antelope, close to
Sacramento and some sister missionaries. We attended a session at the
Sacramento temple and it was beautiful! Here's a pic of the crew</span></div>
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">

Roseville Mission I want you to know what a blessing it is to serve with
you. At few other times have I felt such a goodness around me.</div>
<br />
We have seen many miracles in our mission through our
missionary efforts and zone conferences, mission tours, the all-mission temple
day, service projects, church-wide Easter and Christmas initiatives and
increased diligence. Our commitment to obedience is ever improving and we are
seeing the results in our work. We are baptizing at a rate of more
than ONE baptism every day of the year (on average). Though our baptisms
have been fewer than 2014 I am confident that we are moving forward in a way
that will accomplish the work that the Lord has in mind for this mission.
Missionary/Member work is improving. Ward Mission Leaders are playing a
greater role in our finding, teaching and baptisms. While there are fewer
missionaries in our mission the expectations have not changed. Our
missionary purposes will always be <b>“to invite others to come unto Christ by
helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His
Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and
enduring to the end”. </b>During 2016 we will place greater
emphasis on teaching repentance and baptism to our investigators. <br />
<br />
Traditionally New Year’s Day is a time to reflect on
the past and resolve to improve in the new year. Elder Holland has taught
“every day ought to be the start of a new year and a new life. Such is
the wonder of faith and repentance and the miracle of the gospel of Jesus
Christ.”….The past is to be learned from and not live in…..and when we have
learned what we need to learn and have brought with us the best that we have
experienced, then we look ahead, we remember that <b><i><span style="font-size: 14pt;">faith is always pointed to the future</span></i></b><i>.”<o:p></o:p></i><br />
<br />
<div style="line-height: 16.8pt; margin: 12pt 0in 2.25pt;">
Let’s look forward to 2016 with FAITH, with PURPOSE,
and with GREAT EXPECTATIONS.</div>
<br />
<div style="line-height: 16.8pt; margin: 12pt 0in 2.25pt;">
I have attached a talk by Elder Holland that has
inspired me as I look forward to my new year.</div>
<br />
<div style="line-height: 16.8pt; margin: 12pt 0in 2.25pt;">
I hope that you will read it and consider what your
expectations will be for this new year as a missionary in the California
Roseville Mission.</div>

<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">Wow
what a week!!! So much has happened in this last week! One week<br />
ago, president called us and told me and elder Fife that he wanted to<br />
put us in a trio companionship. There was a Hmong elder in Chico who<br />
was not getting along with his two trainers. So president wanted to<br />
put him in a Hmong branch so he could be immersed in the work a little<br />
more. The only Hmong branch in the mission is in our zone of Yuba<br />
city. I guess since Tomlinson is an English missionary, president<br />
didn't want in a trio with the other Hmong missionaries. So he put<br />
elder Tomlinson with us! He wanted the whole thing to happen before<br />
Christmas Day. So, on Monday elder Tomlinson moved all his stuff into<br />
our apartment. We were not there to help him move in on Monday. We had<br />
to go down to Sacramento to get a bike rack and hitch put on our cute<br />
little Toyota Corolla. Since we were down in Sacramento, we went and<br />
played sports with our old companions, Kelly and Inman. It was so good<br />
to see Kelly again and I'm so sad that he's leaving.<br />
<br />
Tuesday I ate some bad tuna and got way bad food poisoning and puked<br />
all over the side of a jeep! We were with another set of missionaries<br />
riding in the back of their car after I had eaten some bad mayo with<br />
my tuna for lunch. The car ride made everything worse and I got sicker<br />
and sicker in the car. We almost made it to the stake center but it<br />
wouldn't stay down. Before I knew it I was hanging out the window<br />
puking in front of an intersection full of people.</span></div>

<span style="mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";"><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<br />
<br />
Wednesday we had to drive down to the mission office to pick up a few last
minute packages for some people in our zone. We had to leave at 7:30 in order
to make it back for our district meeting on time. <br />
<br />
Friday was Christmas!!! It was so awesome talking to my family. I love them so
much and it was a true blessing to be able to see all their beautiful faces. I
called them around dinner time and was asked to bless the food over Skype. It
was so cool that I was able to do that with them. I received a lot of presents
from people and I appreciate all of them!! But being able to say a prayer with
my family over Skype was probably the best Christmas gift I have ever
received!! <br />
<br />
Yesterday was an awesome day as well!! We had our investigator at church
finally! Last week she had problems with her ride and his car broke down. But
this week, everything worked and Donna came and stayed for all 3 hours!! She
liked it and is excited for her baptism on the 15th! She's super excited and
cannot wait for all the things we are teaching her.<br />
<br />
I love you all so very much and wish you all safe journeys as you travel this
week!! <br />

<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">Guess what happens this week!?!? CHRISTMAS!!! I love
Christmas so much. It's such a wonderful time of the year. It's especially
great because I'm on my mission!! I am able to appreciate the meaning of
Christmas so much more now that I'm serving the lord 24/7! I'm so super excited
to skype my family. This is my first Christmas away from home and I feel like a
little kid again! I've never been this excited!!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">We were so fortunate as to be able to put someone in date
this week!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">We picked up a new investigator 2 weeks ago and were able
to teach her the restoration Tuesday and invite her to be baptized! She was
very enthused about the whole thing and we were able to put her on date for the
16th of January! She has no word of wisdom issues of anything like that and
she's super awesome! She told us that there's a void in her life and she's been
thinking that it's religion. The way we met her was through a member in the
feather River ward. His names Jose and he attends our weekly Book of Mormon
class. He has told us about his friend Donna and we've been trying to meet with
her since September.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">So us being able to meet with her has been a blessing of
it's own. And then putting her on date for baptism!?! Wow!!!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">We invited her to church yesterday and she said that she
would love to come. The only problem is that she doesn't have a car. So we
thought about what we could do and came to the conclusion that Jose can take
her! We called up Jose and and asked if he could take her. He agreed and we
were super stoked! So Sunday rolls around and they never showed for sacrament.
15 minutes till sacrament des, we get a call from Jose saying that he's stuck
at donnas house and his car won't start!!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">(Should have bought a Toyota) so we were sad about that,
but there's always next week!</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Consolas;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">This Sunday there were a lot of less active members that
attended sacrament. I don't know if it was just because yesterday was Christmas
Sunday. But there were 3 less actives that attended! It was good to see them
there taking the sacrament and renewing their baptismal covenants.</span><br />
<br />

<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Dear Missionaries:</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">It is Christmas week. Sister Marston and I send our love to
each of you and desire to express our gratitude for and testimony of our Savior
Jesus Christ.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">There is no better time, Christmas 2015, or place,
California Roseville Mission, to serve as missionaries. Our message this
season, “A Savior is Born” is the same message declared by angels to humble
shepherds and seeking wise men. </span></div>
<br />

As our Savior, He grasps us as we fall, holds us with His might, and, through
our obedience to His commandments, lifts us to eternal life.” <span style="font-size: 8pt;">(Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, April 2015 Conference)</span></span></div>

rescue. No other person could have done what He has done for us. He
truly is the “author and finisher of our salvation.” He is “the light,
the life and the hope of the world.” It is a magnificent responsibility
given to missionaries to declare His truth to all the world.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Calibri;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">We know that He lives, He loves us, He is with us, going
before us, preparing hearts and minds to hear the “glad tidings of great joy”
which is for “all people.”</span><br />
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Our prayer is that each of you will have a peaceful,
spirit-filled Christmas day as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints. We say again, there is no better time or place to be a
missionary.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">We love you. We pray for you.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Best regards,</span><br />

Guess what happened this week!?!? It
rained!! Yes, that's right. RAIN. </div>
<div a11yfocusable="true" a11yfocused="true" class="MsgBody MsgBody-text" tabindex="0">
In California! Can you believe that?!
It rained like 3 days out of<br />
the past 7! It hailed on Sunday! And we had
stake conference! The<br />
whole stake presidency was reorganized and a few
general authorities<br />
came to the stake center and spoke to us. It was awesome!
I was very<br />
spiritually uplifted and learned a lot!<br />
<br />
So last week, we
had an investigator named Adam. He was solid. Awesome<br />
guy. Interested in the
gospel and wanting to go to church. We taught<br />
him the restoration and it was
awesome. Then, on Wednesday, as we were<br />
heading to our scheduled lesson with
him, he texts us and says that<br />
this wasn't a good time in his life and that
he's sorry for wasting<br />
our time :( I was super sad to drop him as an
investigator :( but such<br />
is missionary life.<br />
<br />
Also, on Wednesday, I
went on exchanges with the Hmong elders. They<br />
speak Hmong!<br />
We ate at a
Hmong home and I recorded a Hmong name!!! It is "Nraug<br />
suav xyoo" please
don't try to read it because it's crazy weird.<br />
(Blame the French.) but it
means handsome Chinese boy. We taught a 7<br />
year old about missionary work
and it was really cool!<br />
<br />
We also had the most spiritual dinner with 2
member families. It. Was.<br />
Awesome! We shared a spiritual message with 9 kids
and like 5 adults.<br />
The children were so well behaved and immersed in the
spiritual<br />
message, it was awesome. It made me think of how much I want that
type<br />
of participation and faith in the gospel with my family. I
almost<br />
teared up when all the kids went around saying what they liked
about<br />
the short video we shared. One boy said that the spirit whispered
to<br />
him that it was true and I just about cried. Man it was so
touching.<br />
<br />
Well, I hope you all having a wonderful holiday season filled
with<br />
warm fuzzies from the spirit! I love you all, and can't wait to
hear<br />
back from you.<br />

<span style="font-family: "consolas";">It's December!!! Christmas time! Woohoo!! It's just a
shame that there's no snow here in NorCal. It doesn't quite feel like Christmas
time without the snow. It's a little nippy outside in the morning and at nights,
but that's about it. I received my first Christmas present the other day in the
mail! Well. Actually, it was about 20+ presents.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: "times new roman";">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "consolas";">Thank you to my home ward for putting together that
wonderful Christmas box! They wrapped over 20 items and wrote scriptures on the
out side of each one. Each scripture is a clue to what is inside! It's super
fun to read the scriptures with my companion in the morning and guess what's
inside!</span></div>
<span style="font-family: "times new roman";">

<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "consolas";">Last week, on Sunday, the church came out with a super
cool video titled "A Savior is Born" it's a short clip about Jesus
and why he came to this world. This is the link and I encourage each and every
one of you to watch it! Watch it, and email me back about what you thought of
it! Tell me what you felt during the clip!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "consolas";">This last week was super awesome! We picked up two new
investigators and one of them is progressing! We taught him the restoration
which took us almost 2 hours!!! His name is Adam and he is Latino. He has 2
kids and isn't married. He wants a better life for himself and his kids. His
neighbor, sister McDowell who is a member in our ward, introduced him to the
church and invited him to sacrament. He attended last week and really liked it!
He wrote down lots of questions that he had during sacrament meeting! They were
mostly comparing our church to the Catholic Church, since that's what he used
to attend. He told us that he doesn't like the Catholic Church because nothing
makes sense.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "consolas";">Oh! So, I got a new companion like 2 weeks ago. Haha I
guess I can tell you all a little about him! His name is elder Fife and he's
from Sandy Utah. He's 20 years old and loves soccer!! He's only been out as
long as I have, so we both have no idea what we're doing <span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Consolas;">😂</span>. We get along very well.
He's into street cars and is teaching me about Subarus while I teach him about
Toyotas! He loves skiing and dirt bikes! He's got a CRF 250x back home that he
rides wherever he can. He always has a Rubix cube that he solves in the morning
and when we have a little down time. I bought myself one, and he's teaching me
how to solve it!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "arial";"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial";">Well I just got transferred to the Olivehurst town in California. I am really near to Yuba City, and just south of Chico, CA. I have moved south by about two hours, and yet I am still north of the mission home by about 2+ hours. There was snow up north, but I don't think there will be any this far south.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial";"></span><br />
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "consolas";">First off, sorry for the short email last week. I wasn't
in the best of moods. I was a little ticked that I was being transferred, well it took me off guard and I wasn't expecting it. There was so much to do in preparation to leaving the Palo Cedro area. But
there is a lot of work to be done here in my new area of Olivehurst! I love you
all and hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving! I sure had an awesome time
at the Kahn family house for dinner. We had awesome food and lots of fun!! We
played scum for an hour and phase 10 for 3 hours. Yes a 3 hour game of phase
10. It was the first time I've ever played the game but I had a lot of fun! The
members put on the football game because they fell that thanksgiving and
football go together. (Don't worry I didn't watch anything) the packers played
some other team and lost :( Kelly is a big packers fan, so I feel a little bit
of the pain he does. So in my new ward, there is a set of Hmong speaking
missionaries. They cover pretty much the whole southern half of the mission and
they overlap our ward. So they were invited to our thanksgiving feast and had a
great time. I have much respect for
them for being able to speak Hmong. It's a very difficult language with 6
different tones and 4 different dialects.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "consolas";">My district is pretty cool. This is my first out of 3
that have sisters. Its different having sisters. I don't want to say its not as
fun, but the sisters definitely keep us all in line during district meeting.
The other missionaries in our district, are elders Mclerg, and Kirby. Kirby, He's my mission cousin!! Zaugg trained
elder Kelly and elder Swanner. Kelly trained me, and Swanner trained Kirby!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "consolas";"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "consolas";">It has been a busy week, with the move, and then the holiday. A lot of adjustments really quickly. I will keep you updated.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "consolas";"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "consolas";">Love you all,</span></div>

guys! Well today is my first sad day in the mission. Saturday, we<br />
got transfer previews and found out that both me and elder Kelly are<br />
being transferred out of our area. The Fall River/ palo Cedro areas<br />
are both being shut down due to the lack of new missionaries coming<br />
into the field. It has been the saddest 3 days I've had in a while. I<br />
had to say goodbye to all my favorite families and pack up all my<br />
stuff :( I've been busy all day today saying bye to people in Fall<br />
River.<br />

<em><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: small;">—</span></span><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: small;"></span></span></em><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: xx-small;"><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: xx-small;">leads to action, it is the foundation for other attributes and for testimony. We exercise faith as we do missionary work. Everything is possible with faith as we align our will to God’s will. As a missionary, we have to have faith. When we act in faith and are diligent, we will find prepared people. Faith enables us to act and drives us to obedience. We can increase our faith by diligent study, prayer, dedicated service. Studying and learning about Jesus Christ increases faith. </span></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<i><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt"; font-size: xx-small;">Missionaries who spoke on Faith— Sister Watson, Elder Willis, Elder Fife, Sister Cozzens, Sister Taylor, Elder Sarki </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;"><strong>Hope</strong></span><br />
</i><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: x-small;">—</span></span><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: xx-small;"><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: xx-small;">is an abiding trust that God will keep His prom-ises to you. Hope in Christ is not like worldly "wanting". Christ-like hope is trust in the Lord. Hope is believing and expecting that something will occur. When you have hope, you work through trials and difficulties with the confidence and assurance that all things will work together for your good. It helps you conquer discouragement. </span></span><br />

<i><span style="font-size: small;"><strong>Charity and Love</strong></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: small;">—</span></span></i><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: small;"></span></span><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: xx-small;"><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: xx-small;">Missionary work is all about charity. Missionary work is about loving God, our neighbors and ourselves. Loving others is the most important attribute. It encompasses all other attributes. Forget yourself and go to work. Follow Christ’s example and He always stopped to make others whole. When we have charity we will be good missionaries and we will increase in charity. When we have charity we do not judge others. Be a Christ-like missionary, do not just </span></span><i><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: xx-small;"><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: xx-small;">do </span></span></i><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: xx-small;"><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: xx-small;"></span></span><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: xx-small;"><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: xx-small;">missionary work. We must pray for charity, it is a gift. The Savior did what was natural for Him; He went about doing good. We have loved the people we have served. Christ, the Shepherd, goes looking for the one, yet he knows the ninety and nine. </span></span><br />

Kelly, Elder Costner, Sister Duncan, Sister Oliver, Sister Hechavarria, Elder J. Taylor, Sister C. <br />
<i><b><span style="font-size: small;">Developing Attributes</span></b><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></i><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: x-small;">—</span></span><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: xx-small;"><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: xx-small;">Pray for attributes, they are gifts. Attributes do not come by will and self-determination, they come from God. We need to use faith and hope. </span></span><br />

<b><i><span style="font-size: small;">Patience</span><span style="font-size: x-small;">—</span></i></b><i><span style="font-size: x-small;"></span><br /></i><span style="font-size: x-small;"></span><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: xx-small;"><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: xx-small;">comes from trials and adversity. We show patience when we accept God’s timing. Pa-tience is a Christ-like capacity to endure delay. To be patient we focus on the good and positive things that come while we are delayed. We see that we have been given extra time to prepare and discover new ideas. Patience is to hold up under patience calmly. We are patient as we "look forward to the fruit" (Alma 31:42). With patience we look past immediate problems. "Trust in the Lord, wait pa-tiently for Him." Patience is the capacity to endure trouble. </span></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<i><b><span style="font-size: small;">Diligence</span></b><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: small;">—</span></span></i><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: small;"></span></span><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: xx-small;"><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: xx-small;">is an expression of love for God. It is steady, consistent, effective effort. Diligence is work. It is giving all our time, effort, talent to the Lord. Diligent work is a remedy for homesickness. We must apply diligence in developing the attributes of Christ. </span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: xx-small;"><span style="font-family: "gill sans mt" , "gill sans"; font-size: xx-small;"><em></em></span></span><br />

Knowledge comes line upon line and precept upon precept. The more we receive and use, the more we are given. It takes diligence to gain knowledge. The more we study the life of Christ the more we gain knowledge of His at-tributes and can become like him. We need to take learning seriously. </span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Arial;"></span><br />
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">Wow this week has gone by so fast!! I played a super fun
new game last P-Day called ultimate football. It's like ultimate frisbee, but
with a football! It's super fast paced and a lot of fun! Most of the zone ate
at subway instead of Taco Bell on Monday.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">Tuesday we had zone conference.. Yayyy... It was super
long. It started at 8 and ended at 4:30. Although it was long, it was super
awesome! Lots and lots of amazing talks were given. The theme for this zone
conference was Christlike attributes. Faith, hope, charity, love, virtue,
knowledge, patience, humility, diligence, and obedience. Elder Kelly quoted
"All of Me" by John Legend and it was super funny. He was talking
about charity and how that's one of the Christlike attributes he sees in me.
And he said "elder Nunley, all of me, loves all of you"</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">everyone started cracking up and it was really funny.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">Wednesday we went on exchanges with the zone leaders.
This was my first time taking over the palo cedro area all by my self. Elder
Wilding was my companion for the day. We had lots of fun. In the morning we
watched a church produced interview between a bunch of youth, and the piano
guys. It was super awesome! The piano guys are really great men with very
strong testimonies.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">We picked up a new investigator this last week. Her name
is abbey and she's 7 years old. She goes to church with Her grandma and knows
the gospel very well for being so young. Her grandma wants her to hear the
missionary lessons before she turns 8 next month and before she's baptized. She
loves food, both eating and cooking. She's super funny and is very smart.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Hey family!!! I just wanted to let you all know how much
I love you all! I think I've finally adjusted to mission life! Things are going
smoothly and very well! Mom, you say that I never say anything about my
trainer/companion, so here's some info on elder Kelly!</span></div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">He goes home in January and that's kinda sad. But he grew
up in Aurora Colorado with 5 sisters! 4 older and one younger! He's 6' 1"
and played football all throughout high school. He did track a few years and
wrestled for one. He's super funny and we always have a good time.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">His plans for after the mission is to go to school
somewhere in Utah for engineering.. In his free time he likes to shoot hoops
and watch videos of his nieces and nephew. He has one sister on a mission in
Virginia and that's the only sister who has served a mission. His parents are
both converts to the church but they raised their family in the church. He's a
great trainer and a great person. He's just as goofy as I am so we get along
super well.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
</span><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Hello Elder Nunley's family! This is his companion, Elder
Kelly.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Thanks for raising a great son who works hard and has fun
at the same time! He's a great kid and has a wonderful testimony of the gospel.
We have a lot of fun together and, more importantly, are able to feel the
spirit amongst all our goofiness. I hope you are all doing well. He has many
great things to say about all of you and I'm sure someday in the future I'll
get to meet you eventually. Have a great week!</span></div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<o:p><span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;"> </span></o:p></div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
I'm sorry that I haven't written a personal one in a
while, but things have been busy and I haven't had a lot to say! I wanted to
tell you that I'm thankful for the restored church and the gospel of Jesus
Christ restored through Joseph Smith. A couple days ago, we were at dinner at
the Hastings house. They're active members who's children are all grown up and
left home. But anyways, he goes to a bible study group on Monday evenings
hosted by some other church. And he said that he doesn't want to go anymore
because he said that there's too much false doctrine being taught. He said that
they don't have all the truth and you can tell, that many people are still
looking for more.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">It just makes me want to attend the class to teach them
what they do not have.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I also wanted to tell you about the Scoubes family!
They're an older couple with one kid left at home. He is about 26 and mentally
struggles very much.. He's a sweet kid and brother Scoubes is super funny. He's
very blunt about things and it's really funny. But she drives a nice new little
Honda Accord. And he has an 85 pickup.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Gorgeous little gem that only needs a paint job. He loves
it, because everyone loves Toyotas. But she hates the thing and said that when
I'm finished with the mission to come back and take it home!</span></div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I've been writing down the names, numbers, and addresses
of all my favorite families so that when we come back to visit I'll know where
they are!</span></div>
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Thank you for family prayers each morning. There was a
question asked yesterday in Sunday school. "How can we develop greater
harmony in our homes?" I said that each and every morning without fail,
that our family said prayers together.</span></div>

which is that people heat their houses with wood burning stoves! It's getting
into winter now, especially in Fall River, and lots of people have fires
burning in their home and each one smells wonderful from the wood being burned.
I've been told that the best wood to burn is lodgepole pine. It's easy to cut,
it's easy to split, it burns cleaner than most wood, and it just burns really
well.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "consolas";">I had my first second interview with president Marston on
Tuesday and it went really well! He said that my two areas are much overdue for
a baptism. So hopefully we'll be able to find a new investigator in the near
future! So far we have only 1 investigator between both areas. His name is Doug
and we have a hard time finding a time to sit down with him and have a
conversation. It's mostly just doorstep conversations because he's just about
to leave to pick up his kids. But that's ok. If he doesn't investigate, at
least we can plant a seed for the next missionaries!</span><br />

<o:p><span style="font-family: "consolas";"> </span></o:p><span style="font-family: "consolas";">It seems like in the past 2 days, it has been brought up
many times, the seriousness of anti Mormon literature. No one should read it
just because. No one should seek it out. It is all logical and makes sense
because we are all simple minded humans. Our small minds cannot grasp the
things that God can do. We have to have faith that God knows us, and does
everything for a reason. We cannot rely on other men to tell us what our
beliefs should or should not be. That's what's so great about this church. YOU
pray to know the answers of things. You don't ask another man for the answer of
whether or not the Book of Mormon is true. Or whether the church is true. We
teach to pray to God for those answers. And God does answer our prayers </span></div>

He drove up to my parents home, called them up on the phone and asked them to come to the front door because he was outside.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial";"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial";">My mom said that her and dad ran down the stairs and out into the driveway and grabbed the papers out of his hand and quickly scanned to see where he was going, when mom couldn't read it in the dark, she went into the house and said "Chance, where is that?" He said he had already googled it and that it was 7 hours away from Kiefer.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial";"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial";">I was so excited when I heard about it. I wrote him a long email, and got a few other elders to share some of their feelings with him, and some of their excitement for him.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial";"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: "arial";">Here is the email:</span><br />
<br />
<br />
Bro Im so excited for you!!! I have friends in the mission next to you!!!
Most of my roommates from the MTC are in the Redlands mission. I think it's
north east of yours! Anyways.. I don't know what to say! I'm so ecstatic for
you!!! Man I'm so excited for you! I love you so much bro! It's so exciting on
a mission! <br />
<br />
Hello this is elder Pirir, I wish you a success in the your mission, have
fun and change the life of the people, and leave your mark on the world!!!👍👻
<br />
<br />
those are wise words from elder Pirir! He's a super cool Spanish/English
missionary. I could go on and on about how great the mission is, but in 5 weeks
you'll see exactly what I'm talking about! The MTC is super cool, you feel the
spirit every minute of every day there.! It's an amazing experience that I
would not trade for the world! (P.s there's nothing wrong with the orange juice
in the MTC.) get used to shaving every day, (I don't have to cause I can't grow
any hair lol.) and get used to waking up at 6-6:30! <br />
<br />
hello chance congrats on the mission call riverside sounds pretty cool good
luck on your mission have fun.<br />
<br />
That was elder Bergener, elder Pirir's companion. He is home town best
friends with my companion, elder Kelly. They grew up together and got sent to
the same mission!! Anyways, there's a few things that I need to send home, and
two of those items are for you. I hope you enjoy them and find good use for
each of them! If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask me
or my mother! I know my mother, and I know she will want to help you out in
every way she can. So I apologize in advance if it seems like too much, but she
just likes to help people.! <br />
<br />
A few things I would suggest, is to bring out an extra $150 cash just I case
something happens and you have to buy new clothes because you left a whole
drawer full of service/ P-Day clothes in the MTC!!! Also, an electric shaver
will do you well because razor burns and nicks suck!! You also won't have to
spend money on new blades and shaving cream every month. Also, is your mission
an iPad mission? If it isn't, I have a really nice camera that I'm not using
because I have an iPad now.. So let me know if you'll be getting an iPad in
your mission or not! Also, bring a spiral notebook for notes in the MTC.<br />
<br />
Hey Chance, this is Elder Kelly, your good friends comp. Congratulations on
receiving your mission call to the good state of California. The mission is a
great experience so make the most f it and learn all that you can, but always
try to relax and have fun as well. Muscles preform better when they are
relaxed, and as humans we do good when we are relaxed so don't stress and have
a good time. That is my council to you good sir. Have fun in Riverside! <br />
<br />
So, just to wrap things up, Ilove you. I'm super stoked for you and
know that you'll love SoCal! That's exactly where you're supposed to be at this
time in your life. Get to know your district and your zone as soon as you can.
God puts you in the zone, district, and with your companion for a reason! Get
to know them personally and adapt to their weird quarks! Be friendly and open
up to them! They're in the same place as you for a reason! They have the same
major goals in life that you do. Those goals are marriage in the temple, gospel,
strong families, and ultimately eternal life in the presence of Heavenly
Father! My final word of advice to you is probably the most important. And it
is this; "HAVE FUN EVERY DAY!" The mission can be stressful if you
let it get to you, and if you let it all build up! So, have fun often, it
really relieves the stress. It also keeps you on good terms with your
companion. Well, I have to get going now. I love you a ton, take care and be
safe. <br />
<br />
<span style="color: red;">Never let your faith waiver in the presence of evil! Doubt your doubts
before you doubt your faith elder Chance Peterson!</span> <br />

Elder Chance Peterson will enter the MTC on Wednesday December 9, 2015.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15313298310351340709noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1271050565548667068.post-15466765542254732012015-11-02T17:10:00.002-08:002015-11-02T17:10:31.046-08:00Happy Halloween 2015
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">Hello all!! How was all of your halloweens?! I hope you
all partied hard and got lots of candy!! Haha. But seriously. Email me back. I
feel like my emails go out to no one...... Anyways! I had a great week! Last
Sunday I taught my first investigator! Yay! Sister Christensen has a dance
studio in Redding. And she hired a dude named Dan as an intern doing promotions
and stuff for the studio. Dan is about 23-24 and moved to Redding with his
friends after going to college in Minnesota. His friends go to Bethel and when
he attended with them, he found many loop holes and flaws. Sister Christensen
invited him to come pick apart our church, so he did.! He had a great time
watching the primary program, which is always so so cute! We had lunch at the
Christensens and were able to teach Dan a little more about our church, and
answer some questions that he had. It was super cool. Because that Sunday was
the primary program and he really liked it! It touched on all the points of the
restoration and went through some articles of faith!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">My favorite part of the week was Monday because I got to
work on a Toyota! Zaq, a really cool young 17 year old member, texted us and told us that
his leaf springs had come in the mail, and asked if I could give him a hand. We
headed over after He had been working on them for a good few hours and hadn't
gotten very far. I got there and finished up everything in about 3 hours. He
was super stoked and I was ecstatic to get my hands greasy on a Toyota!!! He
bought old man emu springs for the rear btw.</span></div>

to the Oilers for dinner. As usual, it was super fun. We were there for a good
2.5 hours. We ate dinner, and carved pumpkins! The oilers gave us pumpkins to
carve since we were there for dinner. But didn't know what to carve. Then Sister Oiler had the idea of cutting leg holes in a pumpkin and putting her baby inside! So, like any good missionary would do, I cut a pumpkin for the baby to sit inside! it was pretty funny, here's a pic!</span></span><br />

<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">Well I had the opportunity to see 2 primary programs
within a week!</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">One in Fall River, and one in Palo Cedro! The kids were
super funny and it was put together really well.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>This week was so filled with service, I've
woken up aching almost every day! We did over 10 hours of service this week! We
helped a lady move furniture out of a house she was selling for someone else.
We moved sofas, tables, and boxes out to the barn to be sold. The next day we
did an hour of service at a new ward members house unloading a uhaul truck,
sister Walker. She is a really nice person. Her father was there helping her
move and it was fun. He took us out to lunch at burrito bandito and it was
awesome!! Such good food! Then we helped the Wentworths clear out manzanita
trees and prep them to be loaded on the trailer. Me and elder Kelly had a lot of
fun ripping trees from the earth. It made me feel so strong and manly, it was
great!!!</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<o:p><span style="font-family: Consolas;"> </span></o:p></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><span style="font-family: Consolas;">On Tuesday, we did our usual service at the library in
Shingletown, it was quiet, not much was going on, I was sitting at the front
desk like I do every week. Then out of nowhere, I hear a "SMASH!"
Followed by "SKIRRRRRT!" And I'm thinking "what on
earth was that?" A few minutes later I decide to stand up and look out the
window and I beheld a white Mercury that had collided when a red Dodge Neon ran
a stop sign! It was such a mess outside. The driver of the neon was freaking
out and yelling at everyone, and blaming them for what had happened, when in
reality, she was at fault.. There ended up being 4 fire trucks, 3 highway
patrol units, an ambulance, and a life flight helicopter!! The whole ordeal
went on for a good 2 1/2 hours.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<o:p><span style="font-family: Consolas;">T</span></o:p><span style="font-family: Consolas;">hen on Saturday we had zone blitz (where the whole zone
serves in one area for a day) we started off with service for a few hours doing
various tasks at the local skate park in red bluff. Me, elder Kelly, elder
Worthington, and elder Funk dug some holes in the ground for a new skate park
sign to be put up. The sign was made of steel and powder coated. It looked good
from afar, but was far from good looking. It was plasma cut and burrs were left
on the other side, and there was a lot of porosity in almost every weld!!! (But
that's me being picky)</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">We also stopped by Zaq and Adams house because we saw
that they weren't at school. Zaq was building a catapult for school in the
garage and I wanted to help. So I helped them out out and we built a sick
catapult. The catapult ended up getting 100% in both accuracy and distance!
Haha. It was a pretty sad catapult, but hey, it worked!</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">

<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">October 19, 2015</span></div>
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;"></span> </div>
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">So we were at the library in Fall River just hanging out
bumming Wi-Fi and a lady comes up to us and says hello. We say hello and start
talking to her. She told us that she misses the missionaries coming over and
talking to her and she used to talk with them all the time at her house. We ask
her where she lives and set up an appointment. She's really nice, she lives in
a trailer with six other people and it's kind a looney.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They say they were all baptized into the
church in a town nearby but they do not attend anymore. It was really cool to
meet with them and get a feel for their relationship with God and understand
where they are in the gospel.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">We also had the opportunity to go over to a recent
converts house and give her a blessing. It was really cool cause she asked
Elder Kelly to annoint the oil and asked me to give the blessing. I really felt
the spirit and it was super cool!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Consolas;">Being up here and seeing the struggles people have,
really makes me appreciate the gospel more and more. We all have our own trials,
but the lord makes them manageable. Back home I always knew that things would
work out because our family had such faith in the Lord. We knew everything was
for the better. But these families who struggle through hard times without God,
or faith in Jesus Christ, or the gospel, have to worry about everything much
more. We as missionaries worry about them and pray for them often, that they
may see the Lord's hand in all things. That they might see that everything is
for the better.. I love the restored church on this planet and am so grateful
for all that God has provided for me.. Take care you all, have faith, and know
that God has a plan for each of us!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">It is transfer week! We will get two new sister missionaries and one new elder. But I have not been transferred. I will stay another 6 weeks here in Palo Cedro, and I think it is good. I like this place. I love being out here, exiled, to Palo Cedro. Because there's no big city lights to block out the stars! I can see the Milky Way from our apartment!</span><br />

Palo Cedro and Fall River.. The work goes on! We don't have many
investigators, but we work with many less active members..</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">
</span><br />
<div class="MsoPlainText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">We've been meeting with this less active member named
Derek for a good</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">
12 transfers. At the beginning of our visits he told us
that he doesn't want to say any prayers at all because he's not comfortable
with it. Both in front of other people and personal. But our last visit he
offered to say the opening prayer out of nowhere! It was super cool and are
trying to get him back to church!</span><br />

a great person to look up to. Conference was amazing!!! The sessions seemed not
to be long enough!! So many spiritual things! I know that was all last week..

They are in the same mission, but are in different areas, they met up at a meeting. The caption was "Look at our ties, totally unplanned". We think they both look so handsome. I, mom the hairdresser notices that his hair is long enough to comb to the side from a "part". Before he left I said "son, take a comb it may come in handy". His reply "mom, I have never used a comb, I will never use a comb and I don't need one, okay I'll take a comb anyway". Bet he is glad he has one, looks like he is using it. </span><br />
